Australians are going to face a “tough time” ahead due to the cost of living crisis gripping the country as the Christmas season approaches, revealed shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume.
“The RBA’s message yesterday was loud and clear that inflation is going to stay higher for longer,” Ms. Hume said in an interview with Sky News Australia.
Over the summer, the RBA has continued to hold the cash rate at 4.35%, after a five-rate increase since May 13, 2022.
Ms. Hume also conveyed that even though the Coalition expects the government to take steps to tackle the problem of the living crisis, they seem to talk about everything but the plan to tackle inflation.
